“Artists, you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be yourself!”
Hello everyone, how are you? I hope that your days are being filled with smiles!
In order to better understand my reasoning for creating this project, I would like to start this journal by taking you with me through a few pages of my journey. Right when my book on this site was beginning to write itself.
I have first joined DeviantArt 3 years ago however, my actual activity on this site only started last year, when I met three wonderful, kind and cheerful artists who practically burst open the unseen door into the fun side of this site for me. We rarely

PE: I don't know what to paint...
We all experience the loss of our muse from time to time. It can get quite challenging to even pick a subject for our next painting. What to paint, what to paint...However, staring at a blank canvas / paper won't make it better - in this article you might, hopefully, find a few ideas to explore.

Look around and get inspired by the present. Your siblings, parents, kids, pets, your best friend...Even yourself!

What is your passion? Perhaps you feel strongly about ecology, feminism, politics...or something else? Paint your favorite artist!

You obviously love to create, you do it often and now the time has come when you realize that this is no fling, this is something you would want to do for the whole life. You can learn a lot about techniques from numerous sources, you can find the right audience on the internet but there is one thing nobody can help you with but yourself - how to gain a specific style of your own?
:bulletpurple: What is a personal painting style?
- It's an identifiable style that enables the viewer to determine that the artwork was done by you
- In some cases, your style can be viewed as an extension of

Alternatives to DeviantART
UPDATED AND REVISED AS OF: 12/17/18
I know many people are upset about the many issues plaguing deviantART over the last couple of years. To list a few, we have the updates to core membership that caused a surprise price hike of 45% overnight, laying off staff and the subsequent worsening of the ticket queue system, inconsistent staff responses, the whole eclipse debacle, lack of interest in properly handling issues of art theft, bullying, harassment, and general disgruntlement with site policy. It seems only reasonable that many of us are looking for alternate sites to use. I have personally moved off the platform and no longer answer my me

01: Do you have a good relationship with your parents?
So, so. Depends on the day. We're sort of distant with each other but that's because we're too lazy to talk to one another

Uh. Probably a group of friends on discord.

YES, HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME?!

Depends on what I'm insecure about.
05: What is your relationship status?
I am in a relationship with anime boys.
06: How do you want to die?
Sleeping cause I seriously hate pain and I love to sleep so much. You can totally ask anyone t

How to get noticed on deviantART! by iDJPanda, journal
How to get noticed on deviantART!
FAQ #56: https://www.deviantart.com/help/56 - How can I get noticed on this site?
I've had many people ask me this question so I'm going to elaborate the best I can. :giggle:
As the FAQ above states, to get far on deviantART you HAVE to give feedback to get it. It's almost virtually impossible for you to get noticed without doing any of that. I learned that after a year of being here. :XD:
Browse Art
This is something that you will have to do in your dA lifetime in order to find your inspirations and be able to learn new techniques. When on the front page of deviantART it's probably the most diverse amount of artwork you'll see! Ranging from pixels to sculptures, tattoos to anime to poems, there has to be at
10 Reasons You Shouldn't Quit Art by Yuuza, journal
10 Reasons You Shouldn't Quit Art
You know i keep my journals short, so i'll jump right to it.
1. When you get an idea for a character, or an illustration or a comic, you can just draw it. You don't have to browse and see if anyone else drew it already, or commission other artists to do it.
2. If you get really good at art, your favorite artist might watch you back.
3. You might eventually get paid for it.
4. Because even if there's tons of art out there, and many great artists, no one, and i mean NO ONE can ever draw what you draw. There can be similar ideas, but only you can bring your particular flavor of art to life.
5. The awesome comments. The better you get at art
My friend shared this video to warn other artists about how she was taken advantage of, and I believe this is a very important message that every artist should hear.
I've lost count of how many times someone, be it a big corporation or an individual, have asked me to illustrate for them for free. It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. He said he might print up to 50,000 books, so that's like an

Some perspective on 'core membership'
I know this is probably gonna be a long journal, but if you manage to read all the way through the end you might perhaps even get to learn a few things.
Furthermore I want to state that my opinion on the matter is pretty much neutral. I'm not with DeviantArt on the matter, nor am I against them. I just want to make people see things from the perspective of a 27 year old woman that has been in the web industry for the last decade.
The internet is not free
First of all, and most important thing to realize, is that the internet is not free. Everyone who lived through the early ages of web 1.0. (old people like me) knows that it costs money to
